Plan for Housing Now to Make it Easy to Build Affordable Housing Later, says Planning Commissioner Kate Crecelius

The people of Marinwood-Lucas Valley have been subject to many deceptions such as "The Housing Element is merely a planning exercise".  This has been repeated over and over again by the County Planners, and Supervisor Susan  Adams.  CLEARLY this is not the case.  The housing element is a first step in the building process to secure changes to land use, provide streamlined development path so that aggressive building can begin.

In the above exchange,  the planners weigh the merits of a blanket SEIR  (environmental review) since some of the building sites seem to be absurd locations for building.  Kate Crecelius Planning Commissioner ( the same commissioner who previously wanted the inclusion of the Idylberry School for affordable housing),  argues that all sites should be included in the EIR even if it is inadequate since it will  make easier to build in the future.

Clearly, the county is intent to secure as much property as it can in Lucas Valley-Marinwood for the Affordable Housing designation.   Current plans for the Housing Element call for increasing our housing stock by over 30% in low income, tax free housing units.

Where is the water coming from?  Where will we build our schools?  Who will pay for the lost tax revenue from these properties?  What about the traffic?

This is a clear case of Southern Marin  pushing their problems on Northern Marin.  Susan Adams cheerfully volunteered District One for 78% of all affordable housing in unincorporated Marin.  It is time to remove her from office and find a leader who will stand with the clear majority who want measured community growth.

Our community is being attacked one bite at a time.
