NEWSFLASH: Marin County is in Secret Property Negotiations with LucasFilm

Lucas Valley at Big Rock

A sharp eyed resident spotted this little tidbit from the April 16, 2013 Board of Supervisor's meeting about a secret meeting to discuss price and terms for real estate from Lucas Film.  We have no idea what this means.  It could be something as simple as a right of way or it could be more significant such as the purchase of Grady Ranch for affordable housing. Multi-billionaire film mogul, George Lucas has announced his desire to make it affordable housing after his plans for his film studio were curtailed by State and Federal environmental regulators in 2012.

It looks like Supervisor Susan Adams may have some news for us soon.

We are passing this on to our neighbors to be on the alert.  Susan Adams has recently taken the position of "Grady Ranch is not suitable for development" and asks upper Lucas Valley residents to "support me at Marinwood Village so we won't have to build Grady Ranch".  This transparent tactic is an effort to split the community so that high density housing can gain a beachhead in our community.

Don't buy it.  It still has a drastic effect on Dixie Schools and our community and will lead the way to other low income developments to locate near you. Stand together.

  2. I don't believe that for a second. It was the same when I was young. Housing cost ten times what my parents paid for a house. I was forty before my first house which was far less than I grew up in. Slowly, gradually my earning power inceased. Before then I lived with roomates, high density apartments and a variety of living situations.
