NEWSFLASH from the Grapevine: Steve Kinsey will not seek Re-election

This email was forwarded from a friend on 12/5/2015.  -- Save Marinwood

I am writing to you today for one simple reason. You have been an important contributor to my success and effectiveness during my nineteen years of service as a member of the Marin County Board of Supervisors. Next week, I will publicly announce that I will not be seeking re-election. Before the official word hits the street, I wanted you to know that I have treasured this opportunity to represent an amazing part of the planet, in a community that has long been committed to civic excellence.

Though I will not stand for election next year, I am as dedicated to my job today as I was when I took office, and I intend to work hard on efforts that matter to our community all the way to the finish line.

Politics is a not a job; it is a way of life. To be effective, it requires significant time, patience, determination, and creativity. Mostly, a politician benefits from listening closely to others to help them to realize their ambitions or address concerns they see. You have helped me enormously in this work and I will be forever grateful for that.

When next year draws to a close, I will look forward to catching my breath, looking around, and charting my next leg of life’s journey. I know it will be richer because of the opportunity this responsibility has provided.

Steve Kinsey
