Marin Voice: Why Marin’s traffic is bad and getting worse
Most people agree that traffic congestion in Marin County is out of control.
Sir Francis Drake Boulevard is gridlocked for miles with commuters trying to drive to work each morning. The backup on 101 brings cars and buses to a grinding halt each night at the Greenbrae interchange.
Conditions are hardly better anywhere else.
Meanwhile, there is no coherent strategy for dealing with these problems at the county level. That grim reality was brought home at a recent meeting of the Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM).
