If you own Rural land , beware of Priority Conservation Areas

Almost every aspect of Plan Bay Area, imposes draconian government control over of private property.

In Marinwood-Lucas Valley, we are concerned with our Priority Development Area.  It will bring 1500-4000 new housing units in the area East of Las Gallinas Ave.  In West Marin and other rural areas around the Bay Area,  government planners are attempting to add addition land use restrictions on landowners.

For example,  a provision will increase minimum lot designations to a minimum 240 acres from the current 60 acres.  This will significantly devalue the property by eliminating development rights.  They are also proposing development penalties of up to $50,000 per parcel to discourage development.  See the link to maps and related story here.

BEWARE:  Rural Private Property Owners

The hits just keep on coming from MTC-ABAG and Plan Bay Area.  Priority Conservation Areas (PCAs), a term that was not in the Plan until recently, are nothing less than an illegal land grab.  If you own private property, especially rural property, your property is threatened.  If you do not own rural property, you should stand up for your neighbors, because you could be next, thrown off your land and moved in to PDAs. These are two sides of the same coin.
.
MTC-ABAG are throwing money in to rural areas, many of them private property or impacting private property.
Encourage your city and your neighbors not to take grants,  too many strings attached.  Here is the brochure explaining the program

Where is your property located?  Are you in or near a PCA?

Note:  The real goal is to allow STAKEHOLDERS  (ie  organizations like the Sierra Club and Greenbelt Alliance who do not own the property in question but want to tell you what to do with it) to designate PRIVATE PROPERTY for "conservation".  For those who are aware of what happened in Alameda County Measure D, this would be Measure D on steroids (see the video below)

A public workshop was held to provide prospective applicants(stakeholders who do not own the property but who want to control what owners do with their property)  with an overview of the Plan Bay Area PCA Grant Program and to answer questions.  The video comes from the May 23 meeting.

The ultimate objective of all these types of measures is the seizing of  PRIVATE PROPERTY.
In the name of "conservation" private property rights are being destroyed around the Bay Area.
